Effects of blade design linearization on aerodynamic performance of horizontal axis wind turbine

چکیده

Abstract The optimized chord and twist angle of the preliminary blade design through Blade Element Momentum theory are non-linear distributions, which adds to complexity manufacture does not always guarantee best aerodynamic performance. In this paper, effect linearization on performance using Prandtl-Glauert correction model was investigated four cases: case 1 2 3, where linearized 4, sole is linearized. Shen while making a comparison also studied. simulation conducted for S809 wind turbine profile. results show that 4 represents technique in terms higher easy manufacturing process.
